Why Druk Dharma Design Exists

For decades, Bhutan has relied heavily on imported Buddhist statues that often lack spiritual accuracy, craftsmanship, and cultural depth. Many of these mass-produced statues fail to respect traditional iconographic proportions, symbolic details, and the sacred intent behind Buddhist art.

Druk Dharma Design was established to change this reality.

Our work represents a significant step toward reducing Bhutan’s dependence on low-quality imported statues, while reviving and strengthening local craftsmanship rooted in Bhutanese spiritual heritage.
